Peter Laviolette shockingly addresses Jimmy Vesey's comments regarding recent altercation
New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette addresses recent comments made from veteran forward Jimmy Vesey, as he expresses his true feeling on being a healthy scratch for nearly an entire month.
According to a recent report from Larry Brooks of the New York Post, Rangers 31-year old winger, Jimmy Vesey has had enough of being scratched as he told Larry he «feels like I have no role or purpose on this team.»
Vesey then continued by saying the following:
«It seems that I have fallen out of favor and have just been cast aside over an extended period of time,» Vesey told Brooks. «I'm kind of dying by being here.»
The veteran forward has seen an severe decline in playing this season with the Rangers, especially over this last month as he hasn't played in a back-to-back game since the first week of January and then last played with the Rangers back on Jan. 11th sharing the Golden Knights.
In just 26 appearances this season with the New York Rangers between injuries and scratches, Vesey has only managed to tally three goals and an assist with a minus-two rating while averaging 10:04 minutes of ice time.

Vesey revealed to Larry Brooks that there has been some disagreement with Peter Laviolette regarding his lengthy run as a healthy scratch, resulting in Laviolette to issues a statement on the matter.
«It's the anxiety of not having a contract and feeling like this might be the end. [Laviolette] doesn't necessarily agree with that. But I know I'm unhappy and don't see this changing. I know I have value to teams in this league, I know I could help teams.»
Following the Rangers optional practice of Friday, Peter Laviolette addresses the media and gave an honest explanation on the situation.
Here's what he had to say according to Peter Baugh:
Peter Laviolette on Jimmy Vesey:
«Jimmy's an important piece to this team. He's proven that. Right now we've gone with a lineup, and like all the players that aren't in there, we just ask them to keep working hard. We're more than confident in our team and their abilities to come in and make a difference.»
Definitely a tough situation for the New York Rangers as they have a lot of players who are passionate about playing hockey, and several players who are looking to make a difference.
