Rangers captain Jacob Trouba reveals gruesome injury during playoffs
The Rangers locker clean out day and media availability revealed that Rangers captain Jacob Trouba had suffered a broken ankle in March.
This injury came to light as all teams reveal any injuries that their players were facing during the playoffs. It appears that Trouba took the injury in late March and explained that it did affect his skating during the playoffs however, he was cleared to play and was effective.
Dan Rosen of nhl.com also stated that Trouba had a kidney bean size chunk of his ankle that separated from the main bone.
It's clear that Trouba did not want to miss any games and during his 16 playoff games he played, he had scored one goal with six assists for seven points.
The Rangers now will focus on the draft and the coming off season as unrestricted free agency will set to begin July 1st. It's expected that general manager Chris Drury will be busy, and the players will continue to work on their game and wonder what could have been.
