As the Rangers prepare for their offseason and their lockers are cleaned out, Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe discussed his plans with the media which includes a trip to Calgary and clearing up an eye infection.

"First off, I gotta get rid of my eye infection. I look like an idiot. Sorry about that"

He went into detail with reporters explaining how he wants to work on every facet of his game and felt that he needs to earn his position as he wants to become a penalty killer, play over 12 minutes a game consistently and explores the center position as he was a centre growing up as a young hockey player.

Rempe made his explosive debut with the Rangers earlier this season as he was called up from Hartford it began a parade of fights and challenges towards other enforcers around the league. Many Rangers teammates felt he was a great energy in the room which helped the team down the stretch and into the playoffs.

He's also looking forward to a trip home to Calgary as many of his friends feel great to have a hockey celebrity with them and hopes to get a free beer from him.

Rempe was a pleasant surprise for the Rangers and as he works on his game this summer head coach Peter Laviolette along with general manager Chris Drury will be pleased if he takes the next step forward in his game and becomes a bigger fixture in the roster next season.

Rempe has one year left on his deal which is $820,000.
