Rangers center Filip Chytil reveals Eastern Conference final status
Many Rangers fans are waiting to see the status of centerman Filip Chytil As the Eastern Conference final draws closer. It was revealed today on how Chytil feels about his health and whether he is ready to play.
Chytil did return to play in Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes but shortly after it was over, he was absent for games 4 thru 6 as he contracted an illness and may still had symptoms that prevented him playing.
"I was feeling great in that game," he said Sunday in his first public comments since Game 3. "What happened after was just another experience for me and for the future. ... That was a tough moment."
Chytil has been battling with a head injury since he sustained it earlier this season. Many have asked whether he would be able to play or be shut down till next season. Chytil weighed in on where he thinks his chances of playing the Eastern Conference Final lie.
Chytil wants in to the Eastern Conference Final
"I don't know about the percentage," the Rangers' forward said when asked how close he is to 100%. "There are too many people talking to me about those percentages. I'm not talking about it. I don't know. I'm just going to work every day now, and let's see what's going to happen. But if I'm going to play, I will give my best."
He seems eager to play, wants to contribute as the Rangers will face their toughest test to date as the Florida Panthers will take them on.
"I want to play," he said. "I didn't join to just watch the guys from the stands and have a vacation in New York and Florida. I want to play. I'm going to do my best any time I get put in the lineup."
It will all come down to the medical staff on whether he will join in or not. He has till Wednesday May 22nd when Game 1 will start at MSG. Game time will be 8:00pm eastern.
