Who doesn't love EA's NHL franchise? Well, it is a great game to play when you're with your friends, or you wanna simulate your way onto an NHL team.

EA has a method of ranking players in the NHL and apparently, EA uses programming languages like Python to evaluate data on every individual player.

Basic Overview: Over the years, I frequently questioned how player ratings were determined when playing EA Sports NHL. The overall rating, which often ranges from 70 to 100, is determined by adding numerous characteristics specific to each individual, according to the player's biography.May 18, 2023

One of those players who got the literal shaft this year was Adam Fox who was rated below Charlie McAvoy in NHL 25.

The list is questionable at best, cause even Evan Bouchard, who was a point-per-game player on one of the league's top teams should have been near Adam Fox in rankings as well.

But, nevertheless, the statistics don't lie, as Adam Fox while injured put up some of his best numbers in the NHL in 2023-2024.

in 72 games, he posted 73 points(17 G, 56 A) and +21, with the New York Rangers who made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. 33 of his 53 points came on the power-play which shows his importance in a multitude of situations for the team.

He is the #1 defenseman in the Rangers system but below Charlie McAvoy? I'm not sure I'm ready to entertain that idea.
