Rangers fans start We Want Boston' chant outside MSG after series win
Rangers fans spilled out onto the streets outside MSG and began chanting "We Want Boston" as the Rangers defeated the Hurricanes 5-3 in six games.
This chant has been sparked across the NHL as it began last year in Toronto when the Maple Leafs fans we're cheering in the streets saying we want Florida as they felt the Leafs were a better match up with that team. Their fan base learned quickly that the Florida Panthers we're not easy and they rolled the Maple Leafs in five games.
Since then, several teams have begun doing this chant in hopes of getting a weaker team and while still making fun of the Maple Leafs at the same time.
The game appeared to be heading to a Game 7 as the Hurricanes controlled the Rangers up until the third period. The Rangers then were led by Chris Kreider who had a natural hat trick getting the game-winning goal at 15:41 in the third.
