Rangers Finally Played Defense In The Third Period With An Empty Net
What a wasted great effort from Jonathan Quick, whom was on the verge of a shutout, and ends up taking his first regulation loss of the season to drop him down to 9-1-1.
Four third-period goals in a span of 6:45 sealed their fate. Listen to Jacob Trouba say there weren't really any positives to take from their 4-3 loss tonight to the Oilers:
"We expect to play a better game for a full 60 minutes"
The Rangers did cut it to one with two late goals with the net empty for the extra attacker. Happy to see them stepping it back up defensively with no goaltender on there.
They should have started the period with the net empty if they were going to allow that collapse to happen. A valiant effort in the end, but no dice. Rangers regroup and play again tomorrow against the Buffalo Sabres.
