For the past number of weeks, one of the biggest complaints about the New York Rangers has been the lack of offence.
Since the holiday break the team has been struggling to score goals and have been losing several games in a row due to this reason.
As the Rangers were on the road and stopped in Ottawa last night, their offence ignited where they scored multiple goals in a very short time.
Scoring four goals on four straight shots through 5 minutes of play is remarkable and exactly what the Rangers needed as their slump continued.
The senators had no answers after the onslaught began and the rangers ended up closing their second period scored another goal which put them at 5 for the period.
The Rangers went on to rout the Senators 7-2 which was a huge boost for their confidence and their stats pit the Rangers continue to hold their lead on the metropolitan division while playing through 49 games, they hold a record of 30-16-3 for 63 points.
This was the final game before the All-Star break and they will return to the ice at MSG on February 5th to play against the Colorado Avalanche.
Game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
