It's becoming clear that the Rangers have hit a game winner when it comes to drafting Gabe Perreault.
The son of former NHLer Yanick Perreault, has been dominant with Boston College and has piled up the points as a freshman.
The late first rounder who was chosen 23rd overall has been leading the NCAA freshmen in assists along with being third with all NCAA players.
According to eliteprospects.com, Gabe Perreault seems to have all the great skills to being a top six forward.
He has great hands with a high hockey IQ and can see the ice exceptionally well.
He can change on the fly and give his team a chance to win.
He also has some success behind his resume as he just finished the World Juniors and came home with gold.
With the Rangers playing well this season, it's expected that he will remain with BC till the end of the season where a decision will need to be made on jumping to the NHL or remaining in the NCAA for another year.
The Rangers can certainly take their time with this prospect and allow him to develop and mature at the right pace.
