The Rangers organization have several prospects that are preparing to take a run at a roster spot this upcoming season and it appears that Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann is prepared to do it.

Since moving from the OHL to the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Othmann has made the transition relatively easily has he scored 21 goals and had 49 points through 67 games.
The 21-year-old left winger who stands at six foot 181 lbs has a high hockey IQ in the offensive zone and enjoys playing at full speed and a high pace according to eliteprospects.com.
This kind of player is certainly one but the Rangers are looking for as they continued to seek offence as their primary need since they're disappointing exit in last year's playoffs.
He was selected in the 2021 entry draft, first round 16th overall and has two years remaining on his entry level deal of $863,000 per season.
With the Rangers in a current cap crunch and unable to make moves to help their offence with prominent names on the free market, a player like Otfmann would certainly help general manager Chris Drury in the short term and long term.
Given his strong performance in Hartford, it's likely head coach Peter Laviolette along with his coaching staff will give him a strong look had potentially winning a spot in September when training camp is set to begin.
