Rangers Warrior Defenseman Makes Debut Tonight Against the Montreal Canadiens

Tonight Ryan Lindgren who was out of the first five games of the season, due an upper-body injury will make his debut tonight.

With a 4-0-1 record, you can't say they exactly missed his presence, as the team has been firing on all cylinders. But you can't run a lineup on purely rookie presence alone if you're aiming to be a contender in the NHL.

As we welcome Lindgren back to the lineup, the "warrior" will take a spot on the bottom pair with rookie defenseman Victor Mancini.

It appeared that Lindgren would be out for a month with the injury he sustained during training camp.

The defenseman regularly saw top minutes last season with his usual partner Adam Fox, which is odd to see him at the bottom of the lineup, but we're sure there's a reason for that.

While Lindgren's been out recovering from the injury, Chad Ruhwedel and Zac Jones have been the ones to fill the gaps and have exceeded as the Rangers are one of the best teams in the league currently.

Lindgren's prove it contract, which he signed in the offseason expires in 2025 and has an AAV of $4.5 Million.

He's going to have to stay relevant and find a way to keep the Rangers out of the loss column, which produces better results than he had the last two seasons as GM Chris Drury wasn't convinced he's a long-term solution for the team to help win a Stanley Cup.

Lindgren has played 333 games in the NHL, with 80 points scored( 10 G, 70 A) with a +99 rating, and 219 PIMS, plus 2 GWG during his career.

Since 2018-2019 he has been a fixture on the Rangers lineup, and if he can't find a way to stay healthy and be a part of the push to a Stanley Cup, could he find himself on another contending team?
