Shocking development: The Rangers place these two players on the trade block
The New York Rangers have been predicted to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
A legitimately deep team, who while GM Chris Drury did re-tool wasn't aggressive during free agency.
Drury however hasn't be shy of trading whom he needs to and these two players could be trade bait next year.
Kaapo Kakko, the 2019 2nd overall pick hasn't found his game in the NHL with the New York Rangers, even after five years in the league.
Kakko only scored 19 points in 61 games and was only re-signed at a one-year, $2.4 Million dollar deal. If Kakko struggles again, look for Drury to find a suitor.
Jacob Trouba, of course, nixed his trade to the Detroit Red Wings due to family obligations.
Trouba has two years left on his $8 Million dollar AAV, contract and holds a 15-team no-trade clause.
It'll go down to 12 after this upcoming season but for now Trouba isn't leaving the station.
If Drury did have his way, the GM would've had a new Captain by training camp.
