New York Rangers legendary broadcaster Sam Rosen has just officially announced his retirement.

Rosen stated that the 2024-25 season will be his last season, after an astonishing 40 years with the organization.
Rosen was the very first Rangers broadcaster to ever call out a Stanley Cup victory in 54 years, many fans will forever remember his iconic «THE WAIT IS OVER!» After the Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks in game 7 of the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals.

Rosen revealed that he has been thinking of retirement for a few years now but wasn't too sure on how to call it career. During Rosen's 75th birthday he stated he began to think, «Ok, how do you want to wind this up?»
Rosen released a statement showing his gratitude to his fans and how thankful he was for them:
«So it's time to spend a little more time with my wife, with my family and to go out on top,» Rosen said. «Fans have been great and they've been so complimentary and they've inspired me. I realize that I've touched a lot of people and it's now time to say thank you very much and put a big, big bow on it because I think everyone is in agreement at the Garden and at the network that this will be a big finish and I'm hoping the Rangers will have a big year to cap it all off.»

Hopefully the New York Rangers can make this a season Rosen won't forget and give him one more chance to call a Stanley Cup victory.
