The younger players, the future of the Rangers like Alexis Lafreniere, and K'Andre Miller will have to stand up, be counted, and become reliable producers.
Coincidentally, last year Lafreniere and K'Andre rated third best at their positions and it seems like they still could be.
Even then, it's a simple truth that Breadman and Kreider are better than Lafreniere. While Adam Fox and Ryan Lindgren are easily better than any best day, Miller might have.
The point?
The point is that Miller and Lafreniere will need to step up their play in the Rangers lineup and get better.
This could've been an example of the two players having one great year but could decline in production or play this season. They have to prove they're consistent.
So what will they do for the Rangers this season?
Ariel Fischler, an 18-year old hockey playing grandson of Stan, would stand up for K'Andre:
Whereas the St. Eustache, Quebec-born Lafreniere enjoyed a superior 2023 2024.
He awoke from his slumber and posted 57 points in 82 games, sixth best on the Rangers.
Miller, who showed up seventh on the Rangers' scoring list will have to do better than 30 points, and +5 in 80 games.
It seems likely that Lafreniere will turn out to be a great, Maven thinks, and will turn out to find a spot in the Rangers top six.
Whereas, K'Andre has yet to find his full potential, which is why he could be a good trade piece.
