The New York Rangers recently added Reilly Smith and Sam Carrick to their roster to help boost their offensive core.

The both of them will play a very important role for the organization this upcoming season as Smith is a veteran forward the Rangers to count on to be a consistent goal scorer.

The 33-year old left winger has had quite an impressive career as he won the Stanley Cup with Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 and tallied over 50 points seasons six times.

Just this past season Smith tallied 13 goals, 27 assist and 40 points in 76 games with the Pittsburgh penguins.

With the Rangers searching for a winger that can play on a line alongside Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad and Smith is the perfect fit. Even if the Rangers don't go that route, Smith will likely serve as a top-six forward.

On the other hand Sam Carrick's role will be a little different compared to Smith's, but he will still be a valuable asset regardless.

The 32-year-old center will be a great addition to the Rangers fourth line, balancing out the bottom-six.

Carrick can also be tons of help with the much needed New York Rangers penalty kill, if given the opportunity he could really thrive in this position.

Last season with the Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers, Carrick tallied 10 goals, six assists and 16 points in 77 games.
