The Emergence Of The French Toast Line?
Arguably the best trio of the New York Rangers is their second line consisting of Alexis Lafreniere, Filip Chytil and Artemi Panarin.
In seven games, this line has produced 7 goals, 13 assists and 20 points total. An incredible amount of firepower from these three players.
This line definitely deserves a name that will strike fear to the ears of every team in the NHL. How about, the French Toast Line?
Not exactly what you'd expect. The name was coined from a user on X, and it picked on when reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano decided to popularize and use the name himself.
Vince was calling the line that name quite frequently during the Rangers' 3-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers last night.
The name seems to be getting a mixed reception from the fanbase. Whether it sticks or not remains to be seen.
Head coach Peter Laviolette is admiring what he is seeing on a night from his most potent line thus far:
"When they're moving, they're really dangerous. They read off of each other well. I think there's a good mix of different types of players in there. They were on point tonight. They had a really strong game."
The season is still young, and we are eager to see more of what this line is capable of.
