The Rangers Are A Defensive Juggernaut
The New York Rangers are first in the Metropolitan Division, sitting pretty at 5-2-0.
Still a long season to be played, but a good start nevertheless for the Blueshirts. A big credit to this incredible start?
The collective effort of the team's defensive abilities.
They are in the top-six of each of these categories, and will only continue to improve as they understand the game plan of head coach Peter Laviolette.
The results are showing, and it's showing in a historical rate.
A potential early Norris Trophy Candidate, Adam Fox, is imposing his will not only defensively, but offensively as well.
Of course the backbone of the team falls on arguably the best goalie tandem in the league, in Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick.
The rest of the defensive core, with K'Andre Miller, Ryan Lindgren, and captain Jacob Trouba all have contributed to the team's early success in the season, and will likely not be slowing down anytime soon.
