What do I mean by that? Two major rivals of the New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division lost tonight.
The New Jersey Devils and the Carolina Hurricanes.
These two teams are the Rangers primary rivals in the fight for the division crown.
But with their losses tonight, this separates the Rangers from the rest of the pack.
The Rangers top the division currently with 21 points in 13 games played, followed by the Carolina Hurricanes who have 16 points in 14 games played.
Then finally the New Jersey Devils with 15 points in 13 games played.
Of course, the Rangers can always continue to take care of business by winning their games, and it is a long season.
So these early losses from rival teams might not mean much now. Anything can happen.
But you can't deny, it does put a smile on your face watching them lose. Doesn't it?
Broadway Block on X, couldn't have said it any better.
