The Rangers Recorded Several Historic Marks With The Thrilling Win
The Rangers improved to 5-0-0 all-time in outdoor games after their thrilling 6-5 overtime win over the choke artist Islanders, becoming the first team in NHL history to win five such contests.
They also posted the first three-goal comeback win in an outdoor game in NHL history and are the second team to overcome a multi-goal deficit in the final five minutes of regulation to win an outdoor game.
Artemi Panarin tied his career-high in goals with 32, when he scored the overtime winner.
He became the third player in Rangers history to score within the opening 10 seconds of an overtime period.
This game between the Rangers and Islanders produced the highest-scoring outdoor game in NHL history.
The Rangers also have 18 comeback wins for the season, the most in the NHL.
What a win by the Rangers that keeps extending their Metropolitan Division lead and chasing the Eastern Conference best record.
