On Saturday morning the New York Rangers announced that the team has recalled winger Jake Leschyshyn from the Wolf Pack.
The 25-year old forward was claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers early in 2023, and only managed to play one game for the Rangers last season, as he spent the rest of year with the Hartford Wolf Pack where he tallied 8 goals and 11 assists in 47 games.
So far this season Leschyshyn played five games this season and managed to collect three points so far. However, throughout his career he only played 77 NHL games, where he put up two goals and four assists in 10:15 per game.
Along with all that, this is Leschyshyn's final year of his contract and will need to make at least three NHL appearances to be eligible for restricted free agency this summer, and if that doesn't happen he will hit the open market as a unrestricted free agent.
However, with that being said it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon as the Rangers have just reassigned Leschyshyn back to the Hartford Wolf Pack, the day after they took a 2-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.
