Will The Recalled Player Be Up To The Challenge?
The Rangers will be facing new injury challenges with the loss of Kaapo Kakko for a substantial amount of time.
Filip Chytil also has been out since November 3rd. Thankfully the team will be getting a massive relief with a timely return from ace defenseman, Adam Fox.
The Rangers have recalled Jonny Brodzinski from the Hartford Wolf Pack to alleviate the injuries that continues to mount against the Rangers.
Brodzinski has been elite in the AHL this season. Playing in 16 games, accumulating 11 goals and 14 assists. He leads the AHL in total points!
For his NHL career, he has played in 101 games, amassing nine goals, eight assists for 17 points total.
The lone game he appeared for the Rangers this season was November 4th, in the 5-4 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild. He was a -1 for the game.
Until Chytil returns to the team, Brodzinski is going to be on the team for the long haul.
I'm sure if anyone can make his transition to the team as easy and effective as possible, it's Peter Laviolette.
