Rookie Just K.O'd Himself Trying To Deliver Monster Hit
Pittsburgh Penguins rookie defenseman, John Ludvig, got the wind knocked out of him when he attempted to make a monster hit on Center, Radek Faksa, during last night 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars.
It was his NHL debut.
He was immediately attended to by the Pittsburgh Penguins' medical staff and eventually skated off the ice with some help from teammates Noel Acciari and Marcus Pettersson.
Head coach, Mike Sullivan, had this to say after the game, addressing the injury:
He's continuing to be evaluated at this point. That's all I can really give you from a status standpoint. It's a scary moment. It appeared that he almost got knocked out on the hit. Those are scary to watch. We are hopeful that he's going to be OK.
We will update as more information comes through.
