Period Ends Early As Nick Jensen Stretched Off Ice From Ugly Hit
Scary situation in DC, as Nick Jensen goes hard into the boards after a hit from Mikey Eyssimont and had to be stretched off the ice, thus ending the first period early.
The Capitals have released an official statement on Jensen's status, regaining conscious.
Caps defenseman Nick Jensen sustained an injury after a collision with Tampa Bay's player Michael Eyssimont in the first period. Jensen is conscious, alert and has the use of all his extremities. He will continue to be monitored by the team's medical personnel. There was no penalty called on the play, and the game has resumed.
