Tom Craig, a male field hockey player for his country Australia in the Olympics, has been thrown in jail after fleeing from the cops.
The cops raced after Craig on foot after Craig was caught with a supposed illegal substance. His spot in the Olympics was stripped after his arrest.
After getting out of jail, Craig released an apology:
"I'd firstly like to apologize for what has occurred over the past 24 hours. I made a terrible mistake and I take full responsibility for my actions. My actions are my own and by no way reflect the values of my family, my teammates, my friends, my sport, and the Australian Olympic team. I've embarrassed you all. I'm truly sorry."
After being in jail for 18 hours, he received no fine and will not receive any criminal charges.
His spot was taken away not only on the field but also is right to march in the closing ceremony. He was also banned from athlete's village.
