This NHL season has been highlighted by the lack of quality goaltending that numerous teams have in their lineups.
Many pundits and fans across the league feel that this is due to higher skilled players and a faster game.
Many are expecting goaltending to be a highlight at the trade deadline as teams will continue to scour the league for goaltending help.
It was announced today that the NHL will be one veteran less goaltender after former Rangers goalie Jaroslav Halak has signed a contract overseas.
During the 2022-2023 season, Jaroslav Halak provided the Rangers with a serviceable backup role-playing 25 games while amassing a record of 10-9-5 with 2.72 goals against and a .903 save percentage with one shutout.
Having played for seven NHL organisations, he became a quality goaltender especially as he aged.
Having signed this deal with HC Slovan, Halak's NHL career appears to be over, and he will remain overseas and playing at home until he feels he's ready to hang up his skates.
