Paul Bissonnette states Sam Bennett is Public Enemy number one in Boston
Over the last 48 hours, Sam Bennett has been one of the most polarizing figures in the Bruins Panthers series as he has done two major plays that knocked out the Bruins captain and scored the game-winning goal on a controversial non call. Paul Bissonnette of the Spittin Chiclets was on TNT calling Bennett public enemy number one in Boston.
Many NHL pundits, fans and former employees weighed in on the two incidents that have happened in this series. Tim Peel, a former NHL referee tweeted out his thoughts and stating that it wasn't a good look to sucker punch out the Bruins captain and possibly knocking him out of the series. This would certainly rile the Bruins to try to get back in the series as there's no word on how long Marchand will be out.
Bennett Hit has angered Trent Frederic and Bruins
Even Boston players are starting to weigh in on Sam Bennett's antics. Bruins forward Trent Frederic explained how he felt about the Marchand punch and how it's angering him an basically everyone else in the team.
"I don't think we all really knew how bad it was. I think guys have now seen a replay of it slowed down, and you can kind of see what he didI think it pisses off everyone. I think this whole team kind of ticks everyone off to be honest."
His other incident happened during game 4 in which Bennett pushed Bruins forward Charlie Coyle into Jeremy Swayman which caused goaltender interference and allowed Bennett to score the game tying goal to let the Panthers take a 3-1 lead in the series. The rule states, that if an opposing player pushes the defending player into his own goaltender the goal should be disallowed.
It's expected more antics to continue into game five as the Panthers look to eliminate the Bruins at home. It remains to be seen if Boston can collect itself and get back into this series.
