During the Morning Cuppa of Hockey, Rangers host Johnny Lazarus posed a playoff question to NHL Network guest Jackie Redmond on whether Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs or Artemi Panarin of the Rangers will need to have a better playoff to satisfy the fanbases.

Redmond responded that Marner would be the players she would choose that would need to have a better playoff as over the years he has put up fantastic numbers in the regular season.

He looks like one of the best players in the league yet, during the playoffs his performance wilts and his presence disappears altogether which is brutal for linemate Auston Matthews who also disappears at times.

In Panarin's case, his line has been buzzing for the past two months and his game continues to elevate and show no signs of slowing down.

The Rangers also have more depth this year and a sturdy goaltender who should provide him the saves to allow him to score more goals.

With the Maple Leafs fan base starving for playoff success let alone a Stanley Cup since 1967, it's becoming clear that the fan base is becoming less tolerant of the core 4 forwards which includes Marner needs to be performing at a top level as the urgency to win increases.
