PK Subban loved Rangers - Devils line brawl
The reactions continue to pour out onto the web with former players like PK Subban expresses his love for last night's line brawl during the Rangers - Devils game.
For now ESPN analyst and former defenseman of the New Jersey Devils gave his take during an interview on the Pat McCafee Show.
PK Subban, had his share of fights during his time with the NHL as he was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens back in 2007 when he went 43rd overall.
His playing career stretched from 2009 through 2022 where he played his final three seasons of his career with the Devils.
His impassionate plea about how this game needs more of these kinds of events to happen certainly will draw ire from several people throughout the league as fighting seemed to be headed for extinction.
Players these days seem to be more concerned about scoring goals and their stats rather than defending teammates and sticking up for one another during key times like this.
One fight Subban fought was against the Rangers in 2022 when he became Public Enemy #1 to the blue shirts fan base after the slew footing Sammy Blais which caused his ACL to be torn.
It wasn't long before Barclay Goodrow chose to fight Subban to defend his teammate. Subban lost the fight and was booed for the remainder of the game.
The former Norris trophy winner played 834 games in the league, scoring 115 goals with 352 assists for 467 points while being a + 5 and had 905 penalty minutes.
He retired in 2022 after several injuries forced him to leave the game for good.
