The Gaudreau family releases heartbreaking statement following the death of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau
The Gaudreau family released a heartbreaking statement after the passing of both Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau.
The passing of the Gaudreau brothers is such a tragedy and everyone in the hockey community is taking it the news hard, but no one is taking it as hard as the Gaudreau family, who were about to celebrate a wedding 24 hours after the fatal incident occurred.
Johnny and Matthew's sister, Katie Gaudreau and her fiancé Devin Joyce were set to celebrate their wedding today on Friday, August 30th, but have canceled the wedding due to the horrible incident.
The wedding ceremony was set to take place at the St. Mary's Parish in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
The two brothers had special roles in the wedding, as they were both supposed to be the ring carriers for Katies big special day.
Jim Gaudreau had released a statement to the public on behalf of the family:
«Last night we lost two husbands, two fathers, two sons, two brothers, two sons and brothers-in-law, two nephews, two cousins, two family members, two teammates, two friends, but most of all, two amazing human beings.
We want everyone to know that we receive your messages of love and support and appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We ask for your continued respect and privacy during this very difficult time of grieving. From all our families and from the bottom of our hearts (the Gaudreau, Morris, Korbitz, Venello and Joyce families).
- Jim Gaudreau
A day that was supposed to be filled with happiness and love has turned into such a tragedy.
We can't stress enough that our thoughts and prayers are with the Gaudreau family during this difficult time.
