In a recent update from Insider Trading, it has been revealed that New York Rangers General Manager Chris Drury is officially taking calls regarding forward Kaapo Kakko.
This comes in the wake of Filip Chytil's season-ending injury, leaving a noticeable gap in the Rangers' center position behind Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck.
As the former second overall pick just a few years ago, Kakko could potentially serve as a central piece in a trade package to acquire a skilled center, addressing the team's current needs.
The Rangers seem open to exploring options to strengthen their lineup.
