Rangers Finally Destroy Claims Of Criticism In Slump
The Rangers, who rank second in the league in power plays, were 0 for their last nine chances.
Well that all changed in the first period against the Seattle Kraken.
On their second power play, Artemi Panarin found Vincent Trocheck with a backdoor pass, and Trocheck finished to make it 1-0.
Trocheck would unfortunately make a critical error with a neutral zone turnover to allow the Kraken to tie the game 1-1 after a Barclay Goodrow roughing penalty.
But Erik Gustufsson puts the Rangers right back on top, wiring a puck into the Seattle net after Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider created a chance on the rush.
First goal for Gustafsson since Nov. 4, putting an end to stretch of 31 games without one.
Overall a solid first period from the Blueshirts!
Let's keep this going!
