In the spirited match between the New York Rangers, and Utah Hockey Club, the Rangers put up a fight but couldn't finish the job.

The Rangers would be felled in overtime, 6-5 and Adam Edstrom would contribute on the ice, in more ways than one.
He'd contribute a goal, despite the team's loss, and would impress his coach Peter Laviolette with his first NHL fight against Jack McBain.
«I thought he did a good job in the fight,» Laviolette explained. «Obviously, he's a big guy he's heavy, he's strong, he's really fit. He jumped in, it was a scuffle, he got into one and I thought he did a good job.»

While Edstrom hasn't fought before, he held his ground well against McBain, as the 6'7" forward didn't absorb much damage.
But would mete it out to McBain, landing some roundhouse rights against the Hockey Club forward.
Despite the fight ending with both McBain and Edstrom tumbling onto the ice, Edstrom had someone in the Rangers lineup to thank for saving his gray matter.
That is one, Matt Rempe who had trained with Georges Laraque during the offseason.
Rempe not only is working on improving his own game but is becoming a mentor to his fellow players. Which is easily improving the value of the Rangers lineup.
It's great that the sophomore forward is working to improve the lineup, and doing it without being selfish as well.
Knowledge is power, and Georges Laraque's wisdom will now live on the NHL through Rempe.
