The New York Rangers played their home opener last night against the Utah Hockey Club.

The "Hockey Club" seems to be on a tear, as the Rangers couldn't stop a laundry list of who's who of multi-point scorers from Barrett Hayton, Clayton Keller, and Nick Schmaltz.
While they had plenty of secondary scoring to put their stake in the heart of the Rangers last night.
Laviolette would share his thoughts on how the Rangers did, as they weren't tight enough to close the door on this team on fire.
«I don't know if they were thriving better or more than we were, but we talked about it all morning, the skill that they have, the speed that they have - they're dangerous,» head coach Peter Laviolette said. «They've scored now 16 goals in three games. They know how to create. I do think that we generated, as well, so if we can just tighten some of the situational stuff up, it could've been different.»

And it's glaring how the lack of experience in the blueline lead to Utah running up the score, despite the Rangers' and Will Cullye's best efforts to keep the team in the game.
It's obvious how Laviolette feels that the Rangers lines, which feature new faces such as Reilly Smith, Adam Edstrom, and Sam Carrick, couldn't do more.
The Rangers had Will Cuylle and Artemi Panarin each adding two points on the night, but only 5 of 12 forwards registered a point that night against the "HC".
If the Rangers are to be as dangerous as they were last year, they'll have to figure out how to score by committee.
Or be dangerously suffocating in the neutral zone, but the blueline right now is very green, with Ryan Lindgren, and Chad Ruhwedel out on injury.
The Rangers are 1-1 on the season, with their first victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Tomorrow night they will take on the Detroit Red Wings, and a former Ranger, Patrick Kane.
