Peter Laviolette Announces Who Will Start At Net For Rangers
Igor Shesterkin will be in goal tonight for the Rangers against the Chicago Blackhawks, per Peter Laviolette.
There was a plan in place to get Igor Shesterkin some extra work with Benoit Allaire coming out of the eight-day break in game action.
It was considered to be a reset for Igor Shesterkin, who went 4-5-1 with a 3.25 goals-against average and a .863 save percentage in his last 10 appearances.
The Rangers needs Igor Shesterkin on top of his game in order to make a Stanley Cup run this season.
Getting him in net against the Blackhawks who have scored three goals and have been shut out three times in a five-game losing streak, could help boost his confidence and kick-start a strong push toward the playoffs.
