When NHL fans hear the name Travis Konency, they think goal scorer, playmaker and top six forward who helps run the Flyers offence.
It's not too often when a skilled player decides to drop the gloves and defend his teammates after a terrible hit or showing no respect on the ice.
Last night, the Flyers took on the Winnipeg Jets, Travis Konency took a heavy check by Jets defenseman Neal Pionk where he pushed back then both decided to drop their gloves.
It was a sight that was unexpected and quite entertaining as both men grappled one another until Konecny managed to gain the upper hand and throw several blows against Pionk.
The fight quickly ended as TK landed on top of Neal Pionk and skated off to the penalty box.
The crowd and his bench gave him around innovation for doing what was needed and defending himself.
The Flyers won the game 4-1 and TK managed to lock in a Gordie Howe Hat trick with a goal and assist and a fight all in one game.
With the Flyers still debating on how they will proceed this year after having a great first half will listen to offers on Travis Konency as he will have one year remaining on his deal and holds a cap hit of $5.5 million dollars.
