Respected NHL Insider shockingly links the New York Rangers to Buffalo Sabres forward

NHL Insider Arthur Staple has linked the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres in a trade that could happen ahead of the March 7th Trade Deadline.
GM Chris Drury is looking for a player who could contribute to the Rangers' success beyond the 2024-2025 NHL season.
For that, he will have to find someone with team control and isn't a rental. That player currently suits up for the Buffalo Sabres and will be an RFA in July.
That'd be Ryan McLeod, center of the Buffalo Sabres who was acquired in July, with Tyler Tullio for center Matthew Savoie.
Buffalo received McLeod and minor leaguer Tyler Tullio from the Western Conference champions for 20-year-old center Matthew Savoie. McLeod had four goals in 24 playoff games as Edmonton got to the Stanley Cup Final before losing to Florida.
This season, he makes $2.1 million AAV and will have arbitration rights when his contract does expire.
He's already matched his career high in goals this season, with a total of 12, scoring 28 points in 51 games with the Sabres.
McLeod could be a great fit for the Rangers' third-line center role which is absent a true 3C, once the team traded Filip Chytil to Vancouver.
«Would they be in the Ryan McLeod market should they find a fit with the Buffalo Sabres? Yeah, maybe,» Staple wrote.
McLeod's found a new role in Buffalo after being traded by Edmonton and has arguably found his stride offensively.
«I feel comfortable here. I feel like I've been making a lot of good plays with the puck and getting a lot of chances,» he told The Buffalo News.
