Less than 24 hours after the gruesome injury to Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev was seen by thousands of Rangers fans, NHL pundits and general managers are weighing in on the injury and the type of hit that was done to create this injury.

TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger spoke on Insider Trading when he explained how he felt about Alexis Lafreniere's involvement with the injury and what general managers think.
While the optics certainly looked bad as everyone watched Sergachev screaming in pain and then sobbing on the stretcher, Darren Dreger feels that the injury was not Lafreniere's fault.
The hit was clearly not intended to be malicious, and it was an unfortunate accident with severe consequences.
To add to the injury this was the first game that circuit chevre turned after being out for 17 games previously for a lower body injury.
Losing Mikhail Sergachev is a severe blow to the Lightning's defence core, and it's expected they will be a player in the trade deadline to acquire a short-term solution to fill his spot.
