The Rangers organization hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1994 when Mark Messier and his crew pulled off a seven-game thriller of a series against the Vancouver Canucks and broke the Rangers 54 year cup drought.

30 years later, former Rangers goaltender Glenn Healy sat down with the guys from Spinning Chiclets podcast and told them a story on how the 1969 Miracle Mets were part of their season, an inspiration to winning the Cup nine months later.

The video in question was the World Series parade that the Mets had in their honor as they won in the tight series against the Baltimore Orioles.

The video clearly resonated with the team as the Rangers were the one of the best teams in the league that year and after being up 3-1 in the series to be tied 3-3, then head coach Mike Keenan chose to show the video again to give the players a chance to understand what could be possible.

It's been 30 years since the Rangers won the cup and this season appears to be a potential for a long run to try to break that drought.

Several factors need to come into play for this to happen, but the Rangers have built themselves a contender in the playoffs now it's a matter of moving through several rounds rather than losing in the first.
