Chris Kreider ties Rod Gilbert for second most power play goals
During the Rangers 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings this evening, Rangers star forward Chris Kreider made history as he tied Rod Gilbert for the second most power play goals in Rangers history.
This puts Kreider at 108.
The 32-year-old left winger has been a symbol of consistency for the Rangers over the past several seasons as this year he continues to score at a great clip with 37 goals for the season.
There is a possibility he could pass 40 as the Rangers have five games remaining in their season.
The Rangers power play has been lethal all season and will be an extremely important component in their offence as they await their first-round opponent.
The team has won seven of their last eight games and have looked in playoff form. Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette made a few moves during this game which saw Barclay Goodrow move from the centre to the left wing which put him at two goals during this contest good. TSN
The Rangers will be at home to face off against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday April 7th game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
