Couple Of Devils Players React To Rempe And His On Ice Impact
The Rangers pulled off perhaps one of their best wins of the season tonight, taking down the Devils 4-3, securing the regular season series sweep.
Animosity was boiling since their last matchup, and everyone expected a fight between Kurtis MacDermid and Matt Rempe was going to happen.
Nobody anticipated it happening just two seconds into the game, nor was it going to be an all out brawl.
After saying last month he "lost a lot of respect" for Rempe, MacDermid was asked how he felt now:
"I'm always going to have a lot of respect for him. He's a young kid just trying to do his thing to stay in the league and I understand that"
Brendan Smith, who has recalled the Rangers scuffles with the Capitals and said the feelings tonight were similar, also weighs in on Rempe:
"I've seen other guys go down this route. [Like Raffi Torres], if you continue to hit people [late & high], your suspensions continue to climb & then you find yourself not playing. There's a little bit of maturing for him, but he's doing a good job"
Matt Rempe has now been ejected three times this season, all three times have been against the Devils.
