Paul "Biznasty" Bissonnette was recently on "Spittin' Chiclets" discussing Matt Rempe and his offseason training with former NHL enforcer Georges Laraque.
Bissonnette feels that Rempe's training with Laraque is a serious warning to future NHL players who will take on the forward.
Rempe a towering 6'8" forward has been training with Laraque during the offseason to improve technique and to save himself from future injuries.
Bissonnette feels like Rempe's uppercuts shown in the videos of him training, as a dire warning to any other NHL heavyweights, you won't want to mess with him.
"Did you see those uppercuts?" Bissonnette said. "Those were vicious uppercuts that.
"You know what, that tells me he's sending a message to the rest of the heavyweights in the league saying, 'I'm training with Georges Laraque, and I'm gonna speed bag you motherfu**ers.' There has been a revival of the heavyweight division ever since Rempe entered the league, and it ain't going away."
Biz feels that while some may find the videos amusing, the training only strengthens the forwards skills and makes him one of the best.
"He is sending a straight f*****g message, man, and those uppercuts look nasty," Bissonnette said.
"So, you know, he's still young in the game, and I would imagine he's never been leaned on this much in his career where a lot of the focus of what he does is going to be running around, stirring it up, and ultimately fighting other heavyweights," Bissonnette said.
Rempe hasn't only worked on improving his fighting skills, he's also been training with forward Chris Kreider to improve his game all-around.
Will this year be the year of power-forward Rempe, NOT Just "Enforcer" more like Tom Wilson?
