Former New York Rangers forward forced to cut his hair as he joins divisional rivals
Major controversy sparks as former New York Rangers forward joins the New York Islanders.
Many fans are upset as 28-year old, Anthony Duclair joins the Islanders and becomes a victim of Lou Lamiorello's outdated rules.
After Duclair signed a 4-year contract worth $14 million in New York, he has to follow Lamiorello's strict rules and show up with a clean look, which unfortunately means he has to cut his dreadlocks.
Definitely a rule that shouldn't be allowed in today's game of hockey, but Lamiorello gets away with it as players continue to follow his rules.
Duclair was selected by the New York Rangers in the third round, 80th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the organization with which he began his NHL career, but didn't last long as he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes the next season.
