It's been revealed that former Rangers legend Jaromir Jagr is currently in legal trouble as he is set to do battle against the city of Kladno over an arena dispute.
The 52-year-old who owns the Kladno Knights Has received acclaim that Jagr has skipped out on a six month payment for the lease of the arena in which he asked to have more time. The city tried to reach out several times to him to try to solve the problem, but he refused to do so in which the lease is now terminated.
It's been reported that he now has till the end of the season to renegotiate a deal with Kladno so that his team can remain in that arena. The mayor of the city Milan Volf spoke out about the dispute and remained confused to why this issue is ongoing.
«So we have to wonder why Jaromir Jagr is not able to honour his year-long contract and pay two million crowns ($86,000 USD) compared to the roughly 40 million crowns ($1.7 million USD) the contract brought him.»
This has been an emotional time for Jagr as he has rekindled a relationship with the Pittsburgh Penguins where he is now an employee who works overseas, Has decided to hang up his skates for the final time as he has played 37 years of his life in the game he loves and now he must deal with this lease issue.
In the end, it's likely a deal will be worked out as hockey remains a fixture in Czechia just as much as it is in Canada or in the United States.
