Igor Shesterkin's contract extension now exceeds over a mindblowing $13 Million: Do the Rangers trade him?

Igor Shesterkin's mindblowing contract price has been exposed in the media, as it could end up being upwards of $11.5-$12 Million AAV.
But according to one NHL GM the amount Shesterkin could fetch on the open market as a UFA could be more.
According to one NHL executive, Shesterkin could fetch $13-14 Million AAV on the open market.
There'd be 25 teams that would be trying to figure out how to sign him, even if you're talking $13-14 million (per year).
This was reported by The Athletic's Arthur Staple and Peter Baugh who interviewed a Western Conference GM.
There's speculation that the Rangers are considering drastic measures such as offering Shesterkin $12.5 Million AAV. They want to make sure that the former All-Star and Vezina Trophy winner doesn't make it to free agency.
The current core of the Rangers could end up being blown up by the end of the season, should the season go south. So it could be a great idea for Shesterkin to test free agency just in case Drury's vision for the roster doesn't suit him.
The pair also surmise that if the goalie's plan was to ask for about 14% of the team's cap (which is not out of line with what other superstars are asking for, and getting), then with next year's cap expected to go up to $92.5 million, that would be just a shade under $13M. But the NHLPA is reportedly projecting that next season's cap could go as high as $95 million, which would translate to a $13.3M AAV.
The Rangers have given up the last four games, with losses to the Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, St Louis Blues, and Carolina Hurricanes.
They will need to play their "A" game if they're to live up to expectations from not only fans but the front office.
The team is currently 12-9-1 and 4th in the Metropolitan Division and was in the running to make quick moves up in the competitive division, but Shesterkin isn't able to get the support needed in front of him daily.
Right now Shesterkin has played 17 games this season, with an 8-7-1 record, a 2.93 GAA, and a .913 save percentage.
Shesterkin makes an AAV of $5.667 Million AAV and could secure a hefty raise whether it's with the New York Rangers or during free agency.
