Greg Wyshynski just revealed the possibility of the New York Rangers landing superstar Connor McDavid in the off-season.
On Jeff Marek's 'The Sheet Latest' podcast, Wyshynski revealed that it is possible McDavid leaves the Oilers in the off-season, leaving many fans upset.
Many figured that because Leon Draisaitl signed a massive contract extension with the Oilers this past off-season, that it meant Connor McDavid would do the same and re-sign with the organization in 2026 when he becomes a free agent.
However, this is not the case at all, according to Wyshynski he believes that there is a very good chance that McDavid wants to remain with the Oilers, but this upcoming postseason will play a big part in his decision to remain with the organization or not.
Wyshynski revealed that the New York Rangers, and Boston Bruins could be landing destinations for the 150+ point player, and believes that they may be willing to make a big move and offer Connor McDavid whatever he wants in free agency in order to land the best player in the world.
With all the young talent that the New York Rangers have, it's very likely that McDavid could lead the team and organization to a Stanley Cup.
The main reason that Connor McDavid might want to test free agency in the off-season of the 2026 season, is simply because he has yet to hoist the Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers.
The year's Stanley Cup playoffs are going to play a big role in a decision from Connor McDavid, but as of right now this is all just purely speculation.
In all 10 seasons Connor McDavid has been in the National Hockey League, he has been a point per-game player, and is on pace to do that again this year as he currently has 19 goals, 43 assists for 62 points in just 41 games.
