It's now confirmed for Carolina Hurricanes star and the New York Rangers.
With lots of trade speculation surrounding Martin Necas in recent weeks, NHL insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff believes there could be a trade completed by Saturday June 8th.
«I wouldn't be shocked to see Marty Necas dealt before Game 1 of the Cup Final on Saturday. They have a new GM, and they are also arriving at this inflection point with their roster.»
The Hurricanes are faced with lots of pressure this offseason, with lots of UFA's and RFA's to deal with. Necas however, made it clear he would like to go somewhere different as a RFA, and the Hurricanes have no issues with that.
"There have been so many teams that are excited to get Necas, I don't envision a path for him to come back to Carolina. I think Vancouver, Calgary, Columbus are at least three of the teams I am paying attention to when it comes to the Necas-front, he has been a very, very hot commodity."
The 25-year-old is ready to move on and get a fresh start after putting up 53 points this seasons, 24 being goals and 29 assists in 77 games and then adding 9 more points throughout 11 playoff games.
However, with Seravalli's recent report it's now confirmed Martin Necas shows in interests in joint the New York Rangers, nor would the Rangers have the cap space to sign him.
