During an interview with Jay Onrait of TSN, she feels that it's highly likely that Trouba will remain with the team even though rumors have been rampant up his impending trade. Many reports surfaced a few weeks ago that the Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings had reached a deal to send Trouba to Motor City to which he blocked the trade with his no trade clause.
Tensions have been running high between the two parties as it appears general manager Chris Drury wants to make changes to his roster after their disappointing loss and the Stanley Cup semifinals.
It's been widely reported that he is looking to improve his scoring and with Trouba's contract holding a value of $8 million per season, Drury feels this could be a contract that would be helpful to move on from.
The Rangers general manager had shown the entire NHL how aggressive and willing he will be to make changes to his roster as he put Barclay Goodrow on waivers while circumventing his no trade clause and sending him to San Jose.
It remains to be seen on what kind of damage has been done to both Trouba and the Rangers as it's likely to be very uncomfortable and awkward with training camp less than two months away.
