GM Chris Drury hasn't quite delivered this free agency yet. After getting bounced in six games to the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Finals, Drury promised changes, but hasn't really made any significant ones.

Drury started the off-season hot, buying out Barclay's Goodrow contract and setting them free of the $3.6 million cap hit. He also brought back Kaapo Kakko on a one-year «prove it» contract.

However, the highly anticipated Jacob Trouba trade didn't happen. Chris also sat and watched all the free agents get stolen from them. While they signed Sam Carrick and traded for Reilly Smith, a former Stanley Cup Champion, they didn't make a big splash.

Well, they could make a trade with the Calgary Flames to acquire defenseman MacKenzie Weegar.

Weegar, 30, had 20 goals and 32 assists, tallying up to 52 points in a fully played 82-game season, being a phenomenal core player on the Flames' blue line. Weegar has six years left on a $6.25 million AAV contract, with a no-trade clause, so he'd have to waive it to come to the Big Apple.

But who could the Rangers possibly send over? Well, Calgary has reportedly been looking at Kaapo Kakko, and with only a $2.4 million cap hit, he'd be easy to move.

Now, the bigger fish to fry would be Jacob Trouba, who could be moved over. Hopefully, he wouldn't have Calgary on his no-trade team list.

This trade could have two players with clauses, and it would be tough to pull off. However, it would be possible.
