Peter Laviolette Addresses Media On Rempe Fight And Win Streak
Nine straight wins have the Rangers cruising up the Eastern Conference standings.
They have points in 11 of its last 12 games (10-1-1) and points in six-straight road games (5-0-1).
It's starting to feel a lot like it did early in the season when the Rangers were the hottest team in hockey.
Head coach Peter Laviolette speaks on the reasons why this team is on a scorching rampage on the league:
"I like the way the guys are fighting for wins right now."
Peter Laviolette also addresses the big hit Matt Rempe gave and the match penalty in the 5-1 win over the Devils.
"That's just a big man. Everything is down. There's nothing that's up. Never lifted his arm. I'm glad the player came back and played and was not hurt from that. Nobody wants to see anybody get hurt, but it's just tough. He's a big guy. He was full steam ahead and kept everything down, tried to go through the body and I'm sure he hit everything. It's a tough call. We'll look at it and see."
It was a harsh punishment given the lack of clear malicious intent or extension of his arm.
But he did set the tone for what ended up being a physically filled game.
Thankfully he won't be suspended and we get to see more of him against the Flyers tomorrow!
