Laviolette Draws Comparisons Between K'Andre Miller And Jacob Trouba
The Rangers upcoming second-round series, of which the start date has yet to be announced, will mark the third playoff meeting between them and the Hurricanes in the last five years. Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette has been using the additional time off prior to the start of the series to prepare the team in what will be an epic matchup.
While addressing the media, Laviolette uses Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, comparison to discuss how impressed he is with K'Andre Miller:
"Jacob Trouba is a real physical defenseman for us. I don't expect Key to play Jacob's game and Jacob shouldn't try to play Key's game."
As for Trouba, he was asked by the media on the last time the Rangers and the Hurricanes last faced off against each other and if it'll have any effect this series:
"Two years ago, it's a long time ago, but we built that confidence of knowing that we can play in Carolina. Historically, we've played them decently."
The Rangers won two of the three regular season games against the Hurricanes, 2-1 at MSG on Nov. 2 and 1-0 at PNC on March 12. Carolina won 6-1 at MSG on Jan. 2.
